Our last leg of driving up the West Coast, from Greymouth to Westport, transported me to a landscape I've always associated with Central America. The blinding sun illuminated the misty humidity hanging in the air, and palm trees flanked the narrow, winding coastal road. Eventually we reached the much-anticipated pancake rocks of Punakaiki.

Even if places like this are a bit on the touristy side, I can't help finding myself in awe of the natural rock formations.

Sam and Harry are from Charleston, SC, so we looked forward to seeing the New Zealand version of their hometown. It's pretty tiny. Blink and you miss it!
At long last, we reached our destination, Nelson. A beautiful sight greeted us on our arrival as sun rays illuminated the beach with Abel Tasman National Park in the background.
We've been working and staying in Nelson for a couple weeks now, making plans for our next journey, Australia and our return to Texas in July.
On a side note, this is my 100th blog post. How about that?
