Yesterday was my last day at Century Graphics, where I've been working for the past 3.5 years. Even though I've known I would be leaving for over 8 months, it was quite a feeling to walk out of the building.

After the festivities, it's back to work packing and preparing for our trip. Sam and I have been busy getting ready for the move. He and his dad and brothers built a loft in my parents' storage unit to house our things while we're away.
I'm very excited about our 3 day stay in LA. Four of our best friends, and possibly a few more, will be driving down from San Francisco to see us off. We'll be staying on a yacht on Venice Beach! Hillary found it on Airbnb.com, which I've never used before. It's not free, like CouchSurfing, but it has a lot of great places to stay at reasonable rates.
I've never slept on a boat before, so it should be interesting! I also have a few friends in the LA area that I haven't seen since college, so I'm looking forward to seeing them as well.
Lastly, I have been sharing this blog with friends, family and coworkers and I would love to know who's reading. Say hello in the comments, will you?

Hello! I'm reading and glad I'll get to see your adventures in NZ, thanks for including me in your mailing. I'm excited for you! Actually, where will you be? My boyfriend's aunt lives in NZ and has been trying to get us to come visit. I believe she's in Christchurch?
Excellent, Courtney! Yours is the first comment EVER on my blog, so thanks! We're not sure where we'll be living yet, but we'd at least like to visit Christchurch. If you're able to come while we're there, that'd be awesome.
Yeah, I'm the first comment! I'll let you know if I'm considering a visit while you're there. I have to go sometime, but who knows if I'll be able to swing it anytime soon. Have fun! And if you need a contact in Christchurch, let me know and I'd be happy to get their info so even if you're just passing through they can at least tell you good places to eat or drink
